Fashion Illustration – Idea to Tech Pack: This course is about getting designers back to what they love: inspiring sketches, original ideas, real artistry. We treat the idea stage as the high art it is — pushing your work to be creative, distinct, and unmistakably yours, not like everything else on the rack — with a brief look at the history of fashion illustration to ground where the craft comes from.
From there, you'll move a rough idea — say, a pair of jeans — from sketch, to a high-fidelity illustration that stands on its own as a piece of art, to a production-ready tech pack: clean CAD/vector, ready for pattern making. And the tedious parts you may not know or love — the CAD, the tech pack — are exactly where AI steps in. You stay on the creative side; the technology handles the grind. We'll use denim as our through-line, but the same workflow applies to whatever you design.
Designers have always worked with tools — pencil, Photoshop, Illustrator. Now those tools have AI. You'll learn to use AI-assisted tools like Stable Diffusion to ideate, iterate, and polish faster than ever. AI doesn't replace you — the taste, the decisions, and the authorship stay yours. No advanced technical skill required: just an idea and the willingness to experiment.

Beginner
New to denim or garment manufacturing? This course is designed to build a strong foundation without assuming previous industry experience. You'll learn the complete journey of denim, from raw cotton fiber to a finished pair of jeans, while becoming familiar with the terminology, materials, and production processes used throughout the industry.
